Wait on the Lord

Read: Psalm 27:1-4

Memorize: “Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.” Psalm 27:14

It takes one who is sure to return from a trip to fell another to wait for him/her. Waiting on the Lord may not be easy, but it is the best thing to do. Among things one can wait on the Lord for help (Psalm 121:1) and protection (Psalm 27:1). In the world of recalcitrant wicked people, you can also wait on the Lord for vengeance (Proverbs 24:29, Romans 12:17-21). You cannot avenge yourself. Why turn to God for help? Also, trying to avenge yourself makes the enemy happy (Proverbs 24:10). Only God can fight for you adequately and appropriately (Exodus 14:14).

Waiting for Him should not be the last option, should not be by force, should not be without persuasion, but should be a way of life and for all things. Remember, it is in patience in high hope and certainty of His appropriate intervention.

Waiting on the Lord is so indispensable in the Christian race. All of us need strength to do a lot of things in our lives. That much needed strength lies in waiting on the Lord (Isaiah 40:31).

As we wait for the Lord, He makes sure He takes care of issues concerning us unto His glory. Learn to wait on and for Him in all you do today and always.
